Panormos is situated in the western part of the valley of Pothia, in the middle of major croplands.

Panormos attracts many visitors thanks to the beautiful nature that surrounds it, the beaches that can be found close to it (Kantouni, Linaria, Platis Gialos), and its steep rocks that are suitable for climbing and mountaineering.

Remnants of ancient pottery have been found at the site of Tsoukalaria, suggesting thus that Panormos was inhabited since ancient times.
